Wayne S. Barksdale, M.D.

Dr. Barksdale served as Chief Resident 1992-93 at LSU Health Sciences Center in Shreveport in the Dept. of Family Medicine and after finishing residency training and teaching one year in The Dept. of Family Medicine at LSU Health Sciences Center in Shreveport he entered private practice with Drs. Risinger and Landry at Centenary Family Medical Center in Sheveport. 

Dr. Barksdale joined The Family Doctors in 1999.  He is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine and has been awarded the degree of Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians.

Dr. Barksdale has been designated by the Federal Aviation Administration as an Aviation Medical Examiner and can perform Class II & Class III Flight Physicals. 

Dr. Barksdale is a Certified Clinical Densitometrist and has been certified to read bone density exams performed on site at The Family Doctors.

Dr. Barksdale is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Family Medicine and Comprehensive Care in the Dept. of Family Medicine at LSU Health Sciences Center in Shreveport.

Dr. Barksdale is married and has three children.  He enjoys flying, hockey, golf, fishing playing the guitar and spending time with his family.
